Texas Hill Country Gin Maker Expands Portfolio with Three Expressions Waterloo Gin, distilled in the Texas Hill Country, has introduced a trio of American-style gins designed for contemporary cocktail applications. Each expression is vapor-infused with nine native Texas botanicals—pecan, grapefruit, lavender, juniper, orris root, coriander, anise, ginger, and licorice root—and proofed with limestone-filtered spring water. All three are bottled at 94 proof (47% ABV).

Product Lineup Waterloo No. 9 Gin features a citrus-forward profile with grapefruit, lavender, and pecan, intended for Gin & Tonics, Martinis, and spritzes. Waterloo Barrel-Aged Gin ages for a minimum of two years in medium-char, first-use American oak barrels—the same protocol used for bourbon production—developing notes of vanilla, caramel, and oak. The brand recommends this expression for Old Fashioneds and Negronis. Waterloo Prickly Pear & Rose Gin combines prickly pear, rose petals, and hibiscus with the core nine botanicals, producing a naturally pink spirit with floral and fruit-forward characteristics suited to summer cocktails.

Why It Matters

As American gin categories continue to gain shelf share against traditional London Dry imports, distilleries emphasizing regional botanicals and production methods offer hospitality operators and retailers a differentiation point for spirits-forward entertaining occasions. Waterloo's emphasis on native Texas ingredients and specific barrel-aging protocols positions the brand within a growing segment of terroir-focused American spirits.
